UPCAT Eligibility

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent by June of the year the applicant will enter UP
  • Must not have taken the UPCAT before

UPCAT Exam Format

The UPCAT is divided into four parts:

  1. Language Proficiency (English and Filipino) - consists of multiple-choice questions on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  2. Science, Mathematics, and Reading Comprehension - consists of multiple-choice questions on science, mathematics, and reading comprehension in English.
  3. Mathematics - consists of multiple-choice questions on algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  4. Science - consists of multiple-choice questions on biology, chemistry, and physics.

UPCAT Exam Schedule

The UPCAT is usually held every year in August. The exact schedule and venue will be announced by the UP Office of Admissions (OA) on their website and in national newspapers.

UPCAT Registration

The registration for the UPCAT is usually done online through the UP OA website. Applicants will need to provide personal information and pay a non-refundable application fee.

UPCAT Scoring
