- What is SSC exam all about?
- SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission, an organisation which recruits staff for various posts in the ministries and departments of Government of India and their various subordinate offices. SSC conducts various exams under its purview: MTS, CHSL, CGL, Constable-GD, Stenographer, etc.
- How much percentage (in Graduation) is required for SSC exam?
- There is no minimum percentage requirement for SSC CGL exam, you just need to be a graduate. However, for statistical invigilator post you must have at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level.
- Can we give SSC CGL last year?
- Yes, appearing students are eligible to apply for SSC CGL. You will have to produce your final semester result when required.
- How many attempts are there in SSC CGL?
- For general category candidates, the age limit is 21 to 27 years, so roughly 7 attempts. Reserved category candidates get more than 7 attempts.
- How many times SSC exam is held in a year?
- The Staff Selection Commission conducts exam annually with scheduled with its exam calander.
- Can I fill SSC application form twice?
- Yes you can fill the application form as many times as you can to to any kind of editing. There is no problem with filling the form twice.
- Is Tier 3 compulsory in SSC CGL?
- Yes, it is compulsory to appear for Tier 3. SSC has issued a new exam pattern and as per the same, a Tier 3 (Descriptive Test) has replaced the interview part.
- Is Tier 3 of qualifying in SSC CGL?
- No it is not just qualifying because marks scored in tier 3 will be considered in the final merit. The minimum passing marks for Tier-3 section is 33 out of 100 marks.
- Is negative marking in SSC exam?
- Yes, There is a provision of negative marking in the SSC CGL exam. Yes for each wrong answer, 1/4th marks will be deducted.
- What is DEST in SSC CGL?
- Skill Test in Data Entry or DEST is for those candidates who are selected after SSC CGL Tier-2 for the post of Tax Assistant(TA). You will be given a printed English passage that has to be typed in the computer.
- Does SSC CGL have sectional cutoff?
- There is no sectional cut-off in any paper of SSC CGL exams. You have to score more than the overall cut-off. In SSC CGL tier 1, you have to clear overall cut-off marks. Similarly, in case of CGL Tier 2 Exam, For the posts(except JSO & AAO), you have to score more than Cutoff (Tier 1 + Tier 2) to be eligible for Tier 3 exam.
